Lock up and leave in style

Convenience, low maintenance and inner-city living was all that couple Michelle Dziego and David Fielding needed to hear to convince them to purchase an apartment at Eighty Eight O’Connell.

Having both lived north of the Adelaide CBD, the prospect of inner-city living and the lifestyle it offers was something that excited the couple when they heard about the development.

With amazing views of the Adelaide Hills, their new two bedroom apartment located on level 10 of the Centenary building will give the couple the lifestyle they have been looking for. 

We spent some time with the couple to find out more about their Eighty Eight journey.

What inspired you to make the move to Eighty Eight O’Connell?

Michelle: We have been looking at other properties over the past few years we could invest in but we’ve always liked the idea of being near the city but not being right in the city. I think as soon as Eighty Eight O’Connell came up it tempted us straight away to look at it for a long-term type plan. With all the cafés and restaurants along the promenade and with all the facilities in one complex, our lifestyle will be perfectly catered to, both now and in the future. It’s really going to be like a retreat for us where we can sit back and relax with no pressures.

What was most attractive about apartment living?

David: We want to travel as much as possible so being able to go on holiday and know our home is secure was a big selling point for us. Our kids are all grown up now, so we feel it’s the perfect time to travel and enjoy a new lifestyle. We recently bought a property at Dock One in Port Adelaide right on the waterfront. Our vision is city living during the week and on the weekends live by the water with both properties allowing us to lock and leave.

What made Eighty-Eight O’Connell such an attractive long term investment?

Michelle: The apartment is in the perfect location for us – it’s well suited to our current lifestyle and designed to cater to us as we get older. I will actually have one of my friends living in the same building as us on level 9, so we will be able to catch up with our friends in the cafés below and share the experience with them. I am also a Parkrun Australia ambassador and coincidentally they just opened a new run 200 meters from Eighty Eight O’Connell, which will be great to have so close to our new home.

Having everything right underneath us as we get older will make life so much more convenient. We won’t need to go anywhere else, everything that we will need will be in one central location which is reassuring. We know once we move in this will be our home for life.

How was the process purchasing the apartment and how has it been since?

Michelle: It has been a very pleasant experience buying the property and getting to see what the property would look like in the Display Suite. There have been event days and afternoons which have kept us up to date with what is going on, which has been great. Even though it won’t be finished for a few years they’re keeping up the enthusiasm and ensuring we are informed which has been nice.
