Onward & Upward - from Basement to Street Level

We're thrilled to share the latest construction progress update at Eighty Eight O'Connell! The team are making great strides with some significant milestones achieved:

Street Level Reached: The project has now reached the street level!

Basement Level Complete: A major accomplishment – all 18,500m2 of basement level concrete has been successfully constructed. This involved an impressive 20 individual concrete pours.

Ground Floor Underway: Currently, we are pouring the concrete to form the 7,500m2 ground floor. This phase consists of 8 pours and is set to be completed by mid-August, with construction being “onwards and upwards” above the fences from this point forward.

Vertical Progress: Notably the tallest crane now stands at the same height as the finished height of the Tynte and Archer apartments and is only 3 meters shorter than the apartments in Centenary.

Growing Workforce: With an average number of workers on site each day approaching 90, the site is a busy and productive place to be in the heart of North Adelaide.

Milestones on track: Program milestones continue to be achieved and completion is on track for 2025. 

As Eighty Eight emerges from the depths of the basement to O'Connell Street level, we eagerly anticipate the next milestones of this architectural landmark that is becoming a vibrant precinct and lively community.
